Pegasus

March 7th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

Ahh Pegasus what a majestic and mythical creature! I love this beautiful statue which flanks the fountain at Powerscourt Gardens in Wicklow. These  golden winged creatures are mighty enough to make you believe in their legend. I first came across Pegasus when I worked with a Greek girl in London. She was the managers of a luxury store and we were selling a golden Pegasus necklace which I really wanted. She said that Greek’s also believe it is a symbol of good luck and that it symbolised the spiritual energy that allows access to the realm of the gods on Mount Olympus or in this case The Sugar Loaf! It captured my imagination as a good luck symbol then and in the gardens of Powerscourt an even more potent symbol.

The Huguenot Graveyard on Merrion Row just across from St Stephens Green is a beautiful part of hidden Dublin. Take a look in next time you pass, its  a pretty oasis in the centre of a bustling street and beautiful in all seasons!

Sometimes tea and cake is your only man after a long day of freelance and the pretty-as-you-please Cake Cafe  just behind Daintree off Camden Street is just the ticket to catch up with friends or loll about with a book and tea in their gorgeous red enamel tea-pots and chintzy china cups.

You know what they say, one door closes and another door opens! I love this beautiful sky blue door at the end of Dun Laoghaire pier. It never fails to cheer.

For all the China in Tea…

I love tea and I love china! I took this pic in a pretty cafe in Dun Laoghaire called  White Tea over Brian S Nolan the interior store. The tea and food is great but the best bit is their display of tea-cups and plates attached to the wall. Pretty enough to eat.
